Questions:
Is an Apple iPod Nano (6th Generation) compatible with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit?
If so, how can I force Windows to take the correct driver? (or otherwise what am I doing wrong?)
Details:
I have an Apple iPod Nano (6th Generation, manufactured in 2011, Model MC525LL, Version 1.2 PC)
When I plug it into a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit machine, File Explorer opens and iTunes does not see it.
In Windows Device Manager, it is recognized as a “Portable Device”
The driver Windows is choosing for it is a “WPD FileSystem Volume Driver”, manufactured by Microsoft 21 June 2006.
I know that I need to change the driver to the Apple driver, because I’ve done this already with other Apple devices connected to this very same computer.
I know that the Apple driver is located in “C:Program FilesCommon FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers”
I cannot find a way to force Windows to accept the driver in this location. When I try to update the driver, it tells me “The folder you specified doesn’t contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.”
I am using the newest version of iTunes (12.4.0.119).
The very same driver (Version 6.0.9999.67, manufactured by Apple, Inc. 18 May 2015) works on the very same computer for a newer iPod Touch and an iPhone.
Usb Driver Download Windows 10
I’ve also tried downloading older versions of iTunes, and using 7-Zip I extracted the AppleMobileDeviceSupport folder to see if I can force Windows to update the driver to an older version of the driver. No luck.

Any help out there for me?
